The United States trucking industry is a vital component of U.S. economy, responsible for moving a significant portion of the nation's freight. Trucking is a large industry with a substantial economic impact, employing millions and generating trillions in revenue, while the truck drivers are treated as slaves, paid very poorly, and with no healthcare, causing driver shortages and rising costs. Regulatory changes are desperately needed to protect truck drivers.
